One of the most beautiful Adriatic islands with marvellous scenic diversity, a variety of beautiful sandy beaches, a cultural milieu dating back to pre-Roman times. St. Marinus the Christian founder of San Marino, was a native of Rab. It was 1936 when English king Edward VIII and Mrs Wallis Simpson, with their yacht Nahlin anchored in Rab harbour and visited the old town centre.
