Krk

Insula Aurea or  the “golden island”  Krk is the biggest island in Croatia connected to mainland  with bridge long 1430 m, which actually consist of two arches. Krk is an island with a rich cultural and historical heritage, as well as main town Krk. The town is ancient, being among the oldest in the Adriatic and because of the mighty city walls was the last Croatian island that was occupied by the Venetians.

Visit the cathedral from 12th  century dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Frankopan Castle (Croatian noble family Castle)

Famous 'Vrbnička Žlahtina'- white wine made only at island Krk.  Visit Nada shop with various wines and other specialities such as unique champagne fermented under sea. 

Home of Krk's prosciutto (pršut - smoked ham), just 10 minute drive from Krk old town and not far in the same place Vrh there is agritourism Dvori Svetog Jurja with beautiful view.
